Pranam news: Two minors drowned in the river.  Two fifth-graders from Tamding and Padeisingh villages under Golur village panchayat of Padua police station in Nandapur block of Koraput district drowned in the nearby Patali river this afternoon.  The deceased were identified as 13-year-old Dalima Khil and 12-year-old Amita Khil.

According to sources, Dalima Khil, daughter of Bhaktaram Khil of Tamding village under Padur police station Golur village panchayat and Amita Khil, daughter of Dasmanta Khil of Padeisingh village, went fishing at Padeisingh river ghat near Padeisingi village near Padeisingh village around 1pm today. At this point the two yaks suddenly went into the riverbed. People nearby saw the two girls drowning in the river and immediately tried to rescue them. But two minors drowned in the strong current of the river and died. The bodies of the two girls were recovered from the river by villagers and family members. The tragedy has cast a shadow of mourning over the local Shivratra day.
